Medieval VIEX 2025
MILUG was invited to our favourite Fall fair again this year – Vancouver Island Exhibition. They are always keen to have us re-create the actual fairgrounds out of LEGO bricks and this year we did it with a medieval twist! Check out our castle-inspired VIEX and medieval midway!
We also brought play brick and this was our first time trying train jousting! Check out our Facebook page to see a video of the action!
The VIEX directors provide us with an updated map of the actual VIEX grounds a few weeks before the fair. We then determine what the equivalent medieval version of each building and activity might be, and members sign up to build each part. A big thank you to MILUG member James Cornthwaite for designing the castle walls and making them modular so members could sign up to build sections. See if you can figure out what each building or activity represents at the real VIEX. For even more photos, check out our album on the MILUG Facebook page.

MILUG member Krista Simpson
This year the VIEX directors also asked if we could build a giant LEGO cowboy boot, and MILUG member Krista Simpson took it on with the help of Laura Hawley who helped with the fine tuning. It was a fun project and turned out to be quite popular for photo ops!
